About the District
Virginia’s 88th House of Delegates district elects one of 100 seats in the Virginia House of Delegates, the lower house of the state’s bicameral legislature. Located in southern, coastal Virginia, District 88 encompasses the beautiful city of Portsmouth.
Portsmouth is home to the Norfolk Navy Shipyard and Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, both of which are historic and active US Navy facilities. Tourists are drawn to the city’s Old Towne Historic District, which features one of the largest collections of historically significant homes.
